PhD Course Requirements
All MS-level coursework plus:
- Two additional Human Development area courses
- 762 or 763 Introduction to the Design of Educational Experiments or Regression Models in Education
- 712 Diversity Seminar (matriculated in Fall 2020 and after)
- 9 credits for a Graduate Minor
- Additional coursework to reach a total of 20 credits
No more than four of the credits can be earned in independent study (e.g., 999 in our department). Thesis and dissertation credits (e.g., 990 in our department) cannot be counted toward the coursework requirement, but can be counted toward elective credits. The Graduate Minor and additional coursework can be taken among course offerings in departments other than Educational Psychology.
Minimum Credit Requirement for PhD Degree = 56 credits
