Biography
Ashley Reece (Ezpeleta), is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Human Development area working with Dr. Haley Vlach in the Learning, Cognition, and Development Lab. She received her B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Linguistics from Miami University. She was also the lab manager for Dr. Ed Hubbard’s Educational Neuroscience Lab before joining the PhD program. She received her Master’s degree in 2025 from UW–Madison. Ashley’s work investigates how children learn different types of words, such as concrete vs. abstract words and words with multiple meanings, and the cognitive processes which support their learning including perception and memory.
