Katherine is a graduate student in Dr. Edward M. Hubbard’s Educational Neuroscience Lab where her research focuses on the cognitive impact of pretend play and drama practices at different stages of development. In her academic work she attempts to leverage interdisciplinary scholarship on the neuro-cognitive impact of arts practices in support of equitable access to arts education. On campus, she is a Marie Christine Kohler Fellow at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, working on science-art fusion projects. In addition to academic work, Katherine is also a professional actor (EMC) and teaching artist. A few of her favorite teaching and performance credits include work with: Whoopensocker, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Montana Shakes!, the Children’s Theatre of Madison, Door Shakespeare, the Oakhill Prison Humanities Project, the Kattiakkuttu Gurukulam, Adishakti Theatre, Double Edge Theatre, and more! www.KatherineENorman.com
